"The 39 Steps" at Intiman

Yesterday me and a few other vintage bloggers were invited to see De 39 Stegen (The 39 Steps) at Intiman in Stockholm. I’m a Hitchcock fan and like the movie, so I thought it would be fun to see the stage version!

We got a backstage tour by the costumer before the show started. The tour was really interesting, and the show was pretty great. At times it was a bit too farcical and not really funny, and some subtly misogynistic jokes could have been updated without losing effect, but mostly it was really exciting and funny, and with lots of great and innovative special effects.

The theatre itself was really beautiful inside and out. I didn’t get any good photos of the facade and foyer, but they were really nice, and the foyer staff even wore great classic usher costumes made specifically for this show. It all made for a really nice atmosphere.

I had grand plans for a 30s noir outfit, but my hair did not want to cooperate so I just wore my regular everyday winter clothes instead, and felt really boring. Miriam, who invited us all, was really spy story elegant though!

De 39 Stegen runs until Sunday, so you’ll have to hurry if you want to see it. It was a very entertaining show and I would recommend it!

The other bloggers were Karoline, Caroline and Elsa.
