On 5-7 February, the Speaker Andreas Norlén travelled to Brussels together with a delegation of members of the Riksdag for a three-part visit to Belgium, to the EU institutions in Brussels and to the NATO Headquarters.

On Friday 18 January, the Riksdag voted in favour of the Speaker Andreas Norlén's proposal to appoint Stefan Löfven (Social Democratic Party) as Prime Minister. The Speaker welcomes the fact that the long process of forming a government is coming to an end and he will now be initiating an analysis of the political situation in the autumn of 2018.
Stefan Löfven (Social Democratic Party) has been chosen as Sweden's new Prime Minister. On 18 January, the Riksdag voted in favour of the Speaker's proposal in the Chamber.
